Progress

The first thing to do was to find a narrative story. Instead of going with the link of stories that was given, I've chosen The Little Match Girl by Hans Christian Andersen which can be read here.
The Little Match girl has been an all-time sad melancholic children' story. Nevertheless, the challenge here is to create an illustration without following the actual artwork that has been done and what I did is I illustrated the characters and how all the situation and scenes would be just by reading the literature. Therefore I won't imitate the actual visualized story from other illustrator and challenging myself to create my own visualisation. In the story, all the scenes was described perfectly and also for the characters.

I've choosen webcomic for this project since I'm more comfortable with it. I wanted to create a parallax site resembling the stories in hobolobo. With the tutorial that has been given by the lecturer, I   started to illustrate in Adobe Photoshop. In this case, all figures that I wanted to show the most (as the main thing on each panel) is drawn with photoshop thus it'll look more detailed. While the background and other bits to fill up the panel are created in Adobe Illustrator.

I differentiate the scenes from the present and past thus it won't confuses the readers.

Just like how it was taught before, I created background, midground and foreground in different layers (it'll also emphasize the parallax effect)

After I'm done, instead of saving each layers into .png I just copied everything that I've did from Adobe Illustrator into Adobe Animate.

Reflection
Time management for this project is indeed very crucial. A lot of things need to be done in a short time which is hard for me. Illustrating it was fine just like how I did on previous project but I didn't manage to do well in animating the story. Did a lot of mistakes and ended up redo-ing a lot in Animate. However, I learned a lot and finished the project.
